Pansy Petals Birthday Card

Hello Crafters

Today I'd like to use some of the elements from the stunning Pansy Petals Suite (155810).

This card only has a small amount of stamping, I've utilised the DSP to create my flowers.  The Dies fit perfectly to cut out the flowers on some sheets of the paper.  Its great!!  especially if you're a bit like me and don't always have a lot of time for two or three step stamping.  Personally, I love it all, but being able to die cut straight from the DSP does make the card come together faster and is still just as beautiful.

Anyway, lets get started with the fun stuff.

You will need:

White Card Base 8 1/4" x 5 7/8" scored and folded at 4 1/8" portrait orientation.

Purple Posy Matte 5 5/8" x 3 7/8"  (Purple Posy has now retired but any Matting layer will be fine, just choose from the list of coordinating colours shown on the DSP package).

White layer  5 3/8" x 3 5/8" emboss with Bricks & Mortar folder

Pansy Patch Stamp and Die bundle

Pansy Petals DSP

Purple Posy scrap for sentiment label

White scrap for smaller sentiment label

Stitched So Sweetly Dies (or similar label dies)  3rd and 4th  (smallest to largest)

Bricks & Mortar Embossing Folder

Evening Evergreen Scrap for leaves.

Evening Evergreen Ink

Pretty Gems to decorate.

Paper Trimmer

Die machine

Adhesive

  1. Die cut your Pansies from the DSP
  2. Die cut Evening Evergreen stems and leaves.
  3. Die cut Purple Posy and White sentiment labels
  4. Emboss White layer
  5. Adhere PP card onto White card base
  6. Stamp Happy Birthday in EE ink onto white label
  7. Adhere white label to the PP one, then glue both onto PP matte.
  8. Dry fit where you want to place your Pansies
  9. When happy with your layout, glue one Pansy flat to the card, add dimensionals to back of two Pansies
  10. Adhere EE leaves and stems below the first Pansy, remove dimensional backings and add other Pansies.  I shaped my flowers before attaching to give more dimension.
  11. Add your chosen gems.
  12. If you wish, decorate the inside.  I chose to leave the inside blank so I can personalise it when I know who i'm giving it to.
Thats it, you have a beautiful Birthday Card that hasn't taken too long to make and will WOW the recipient!!

Please give my card a try and send me a photo of what you've made.  What have you done different?
leave your comments below and i'll make sure I respond as quickly as possible.

Art Gallery Best Wishes

Art Gallery Best Wishes

Hi Crafters,

Today I'd like to tell you how I made this beautiful Best Wishes Birthday Card.  The card uses DSP from the Art Gallery Suite, in the mini January to June 2021.
When I made the card I was pretty much winging it.  All I knew was that I wanted to use the Fine Art Floral DSP.

I've also used White and Pretty Peacock card stock, Vellum die cut embellishments.  Inks used are Pretty Peacock and Flirty Flamingo.  The Art Gallery Stamp Set,  Painted Lables Die set.
You will begin by cutting your card pieces -
1    White 8 1/4" x 5 7/8" scored and burnished at 4 1/8" landscape orientation.
2    Pretty Peacock 5 5/8" x 3 7/8" x2
3    Art Gallery DSP 5 3/8" x 3 5/8" ensuring your dsp is cut to ensure any directional pattern is the             correct way up.
4    Vellum scraps, PP scraps for die cut labels.
5    Vellum scraps for embellishment die cuts.
6    Bumble Bee In-colour ribbon long enough to wrap around left of card, plus a small piece for the knot.

I adhered my PP card onto the front and inside of my white folded card.  Then I wrapped the BBee Ribbon on the left side of the DSP bottom to top, then adhered it with Seal Tape to the PP panel.
Next I took another piece of ribbon,  thread it under the long strip of ribbon and tied a simple knot.
I die cut the Sentiment labels in Vellum and PP also vellum sprigs and fern leaves (use any vellum decoration you wish).

Then for the Stamping.  Using Flirty Flamingo Ink I stamped the inner white layer with the Art Gallery Stamps using the three step stamping.  The first stamp was stamped off twice to allow a feint backdrop, the second stamp was stamped off once and then the third full strength.
I also stamped off twice to create a feint flower on the white sentiment label.

Using the Rectangle Stitched Dies I stamped Happy Birthday in Flirty Flamingo.  I tucked the Vellum Fern leaves behind and attached it to the white base.  Glued full white layer to PP in inside of card.

For the front card, I stamped Best Wishes in PP ink onto white circle sentiment label.  To finish I used a drop of wet glue to adhere the Vellum Die Cut to the PP piece then the white sentiment label.  I added Dimensionals to PP and attached to centre of DSP.

Thats it!!  Quick and easy but very pretty.

Hope you like my card and give it a try.  If you do please post a picture of your card, i'd love to see it.

Thank you so much for visiting my Blog today.

Stay Safe and well.

Hand Penned Card.

Hi Crafters,
This card was so quick and easy to make, yet so beautiful.
I wanted the Designer Series Paper from the Hand Penned Suite of Products to take centre stage on my card today. It is so pretty and fresh looking, the last thing I wanted to do was cover it up.
Really quick and easy to make with just a White card base, Pale Papaya matte, Hand Penned DSP and Pale Papaya Ribbon and some elements from the Hand Penned Memories and More Cards.

I did plan to make this a portrait card, but, I forgot to check the direction of the DSP pattern before cutting it, but it turned out to be a happy accident as I really like the landscape orientation.🤭🤗. I really hope you like it too.

If you'd like to see more products available in the upcoming Stampin' Up! 2021 -2022 Annual Catalogue - let me know, I'll be happy to send you a free catalogue if you live in UK, France, Germany, Netherlands or Austria. Life is Beautiful - Stepped Up Hello Card

Life Is Beautiful Hello Card
Stepped Up

Hello Crafters

Welcome to today's tutorial.  This card is my stepped up version from yesterdays post which was quick and easy simple stamping.

I'm using the Life is Beautiful Stamp Set,  Woodgrain effect DSP from the In Good Taste paper pack, Faux Suede Ribbon and a small piece of Sahara Sand Twine.  The leaves on this one are more autumn themed with more reds and browns.

Materials & Measurements

Early Espresso card base - 8 1/4" x 5 7/8" scored and burnished at 4 1/8", Portrait orientation
Dark Woodgrain DSP 5 5/8" x 3 7/8"
Very Vanilla panel 4" x 3"
Very Vanilla 5 5/8" x 3 7/8" Inside panel
Stampin' Write Markers:  Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie
Classic Ink Pads:  Soft Suede, Early Espresso
Faux Suede Ribbon approx 3 1/4"

  1. Adhere your DSP to card base, leaving an even border all around.
  2. On Very Vanilla panel, ink up the tree stamp with Soft Suede and stamp towards the left side of the card coming off the edge a little.
  3. Ink the Hello stamp with Early Espresso and stamp at the bottom right corner of Very Vanilla panel.
  4. Using Markers, dot individual colours around on the cluster of leaves stamp, you will need to 'huff' on the stamp before stamping to re-moisten ink, stamp down onto tree branches.
  5. Repeat step 4 for a fuller look.
  6. Repeat step 4 again to inside panel, bottom right corner coming of the edges, adhere to inside.
  7. Wrap the ribbon across the front of the stamped panel just above the Hello. Put some tape or glue dots on reverse of panel at left and right end and secure the ends of the ribbon on back.
  8. Adhere panel to card base.
  9. If desired, tie some twine around the ribbon in a simple knot.
That's it!! your card is complete. Oh... don't forget to decorate your envelope!!

Life is Beautiful - Simple Stamping Hello Card

Life is Beautiful Cards

Hello Crafters,

This card has been made using the Life is Beautiful Stamp Set.

It's a quick and easy card to make and is beautiful just as it is, however, there is a more stepped up version using more items and just a little more time to follow on my next post.

The above card is Very Vanilla card base 8 1/4" x 5 7/8" scored and burnished at 4 1/8" Portrait orientation.

I've used the big tree, the cluster of leaves and the shadowy stamp to ground my  tree  and the Hello sentiment.

I have also used Stampin' Write Markers to create different coloured leaves on the tree, Alcohol markers aren't suitable for colouring stamps as they dry too quickly.  If you don't have the Stampin' Write Markers you could use your inks with a dry water painter or brush.

Instructions

  1. Take a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock 8 1/4" x 5 7/8" scored and burnished at 4 1/8" Portrait orientation.
  2. Put the bare tree stamp onto a size F stampin' block and ink up with Soft Suede Ink.
  3. Using a pierce pad or some other form of cushioning (use for photopolymer stamps to get crisper images) Stamp the tree onto the front of the VV card base.
  4. Using size B Stampin' block with the Shadow stamp and Sahara Sand Ink, stamp the Shadowy stamp at the base of the tree.  This will help to ground it and not seem like it is floating in mid-air.
  5. This is where the fun really starts.  Using your Bumble Bee, Granny Apple and Cajun Craze markers or ink pads, brush or dab each colour over the cluster of leaves to create a mix of coloured leaves.
  6. Huff on the stamp to re-moisten the inks and stamp on tree branches.  Do this twice to fill the tree.
  7. Using the Hello sentiment on a size G Stampin' block, ink the stamp with Soft Suede ink and stamp it to the left side of the tree.
  8. On the inside of the card base, repeat step 5 and 6 and stamp in bottom right corner allowing the image to come off the edges.
  9. I haven't stamped a sentiment on the inside because I like to wait to see who will receive the card and personalise it.  However, feel free to do this if you wish.
That's it!!, The card is finished.  Don't forget, we don't want any naked envelopes, so you'll need to decorate envelope as well.
