Life is Beautiful - Simple Stamping Hello Card

Life is Beautiful Cards

Hello Crafters,

This card has been made using the Life is Beautiful Stamp Set.

It's a quick and easy card to make and is beautiful just as it is, however, there is a more stepped up version using more items and just a little more time to follow on my next post.

The above card is Very Vanilla card base 8 1/4" x 5 7/8" scored and burnished at 4 1/8" Portrait orientation.

I've used the big tree, the cluster of leaves and the shadowy stamp to ground my  tree  and the Hello sentiment.

I have also used Stampin' Write Markers to create different coloured leaves on the tree, Alcohol markers aren't suitable for colouring stamps as they dry too quickly.  If you don't have the Stampin' Write Markers you could use your inks with a dry water painter or brush.

Instructions

  1. Take a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock 8 1/4" x 5 7/8" scored and burnished at 4 1/8" Portrait orientation.
  2. Put the bare tree stamp onto a size F stampin' block and ink up with Soft Suede Ink.
  3. Using a pierce pad or some other form of cushioning (use for photopolymer stamps to get crisper images) Stamp the tree onto the front of the VV card base.
  4. Using size B Stampin' block with the Shadow stamp and Sahara Sand Ink, stamp the Shadowy stamp at the base of the tree.  This will help to ground it and not seem like it is floating in mid-air.
  5. This is where the fun really starts.  Using your Bumble Bee, Granny Apple and Cajun Craze markers or ink pads, brush or dab each colour over the cluster of leaves to create a mix of coloured leaves.
  6. Huff on the stamp to re-moisten the inks and stamp on tree branches.  Do this twice to fill the tree.
  7. Using the Hello sentiment on a size G Stampin' block, ink the stamp with Soft Suede ink and stamp it to the left side of the tree.
  8. On the inside of the card base, repeat step 5 and 6 and stamp in bottom right corner allowing the image to come off the edges.
  9. I haven't stamped a sentiment on the inside because I like to wait to see who will receive the card and personalise it.  However, feel free to do this if you wish.
That's it!!, The card is finished.  Don't forget, we don't want any naked envelopes, so you'll need to decorate envelope as well.
